![]() ![]() I was having a rough time at work and needed a feel good project. There was an article in the paper about a girl scout troops which donated hats to cancer patients. "I could do that!" I thought and then came to a stop before I started. Where would I find the time? Juggling 2 jobs, going to school, and trying to have some sort of a social lift didn't leave too much time for crafting. The Lord seemed to have an answer - The Knifty Knitter! It's easy and relaxing enough to do after I've gotten ready for bed, and compact enough to carry just about everywhere. And the hats just started coming! Before I knew it, the box I had set aside to donate hats was full! And, perhaps what I like best, since it's on a loom, you don't have to worry about any of your project coming undone if the needles or hooks fall out. :D My boyfriend and I are planning on using the small, blue circle for premature babies, but at the moment I've come into a huge bag of the fun and funky yarns. Taking one ball of those at a time, and two strands of yarns, the hats are coming out great, quick, and cute, and it makes me happy to think of the smile these could bring to someone's face once they are donated.
This link I've chosen for the Knifty Knitter, http://www.bfranklincrafts.com/KniftyKnitter.html, has a video on how to use the loom (I found the directions that came with it a little confusing) as well as some other fun and free projects ideas for the loom. Enjoy! |
